Privacy policy.
Effective September 16, 2026
Urbanbutter Creative Group Inc. ("Urbanbutter", "we", "us" or "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use and disclose personal information when you visit urbanbutter.com, contact us, or join our email and text-message lists.
Our sample-sale list is for Urbanbutter sale dates and information around our two public sales each year. Joining is optional. You can unsubscribe at any time, and we do not sell your mobile number or share your SMS consent for someone else's marketing.
1. Information we collect
- Information you provide: your name, email address, mobile number, and the details you choose to include when you contact us about our showroom, brands, services or sales.
- Subscription information: your sign-up source and date, marketing preferences, and consent or opt-out information recorded by our forms and messaging providers.
- Technical information: our website and service providers may process IP addresses, browser and device information, request times and security logs to deliver and protect the website and prevent misuse.
- Message interactions: our messaging providers may record delivery, opens, link clicks, replies and unsubscribe activity to operate the service and help us understand whether our messages are useful.
2. How we use information
We use personal information to respond to enquiries, arrange showroom appointments, provide requested services, maintain our contact lists, send communications you have agreed to receive, honour your preferences, prevent abuse and meet applicable legal obligations. Providing a phone number for an enquiry does not by itself subscribe you to marketing texts.
3. Email and text messages
If you opt in, Urbanbutter may send you email and text messages about sample-sale dates and information. Our sample-sale communications are limited to our twice-yearly sales, not a monthly promotional programme. Texts may be sent using automated technology through messaging providers such as Klaviyo. Consent is not a condition of purchase or of attending a sale. Message and data rates may apply.
To stop texts: reply STOP to an Urbanbutter marketing text. You may receive a confirmation of your opt-out. For assistance, contact info@urbanbutter.com.
To stop emails: use the unsubscribe link in a marketing email or contact us. Email and text preferences are managed separately; you can ask us to stop both. We may keep a minimal suppression record to ensure we respect your opt-out.
Mobile information and SMS consent: we do not sell, rent or share your mobile number, SMS opt-in information or consent status with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. We will not share your opt-in to an SMS campaign for purposes unrelated to providing that campaign. We may share the information needed to provide our messaging services with service providers, including Klaviyo, messaging platform providers and telecommunications carriers, solely to help deliver and administer those services.
4. Service providers and other disclosures
We use service providers to host and secure our website, store sign-ups, manage email and text communications, and support our business. They receive the information needed to perform those services for us. Their role does not give them permission to use your SMS opt-in for their own marketing.
We may also disclose information where required by law, in response to a valid legal request, or where reasonably necessary to protect legal rights or prevent fraud. These circumstances do not authorize sharing SMS consent for unrelated marketing. Our providers may process or store information outside Canada, where it may be subject to the laws and lawful access requirements of those jurisdictions.
5. Website technology and external links
Our hosting and security providers may use cookies or similar technologies needed to operate and protect the website. Your browser may allow you to block or delete cookies; doing so can affect some features. Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser sends technical information, including your IP address, to that provider when requesting a font.
Links to brand websites, social media, maps and other third-party services take you to services governed by their own privacy policies. This policy covers Urbanbutter's handling of information, not those independent services.
6. Retention and security
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described here, including managing an active subscription, responding to enquiries, respecting opt-outs and meeting legal or recordkeeping obligations. Information no longer needed is deleted or anonymized, subject to applicable retention requirements.
We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the information we handle. No website, storage system or method of transmission can be guaranteed completely secure.
7. Your privacy choices
You may contact us to request access to or correction of your personal information, withdraw consent, ask us to delete information where applicable, or raise a privacy concern. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. Some information may need to be retained for legal purposes or to honour an unsubscribe request. Withdrawing marketing consent does not prevent you from shopping with us.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our services or privacy practices change. The effective date above identifies the latest version. Where required, we will provide notice or obtain consent before using information for a new purpose.
